DESCRIPTION:This ONLINE class is a combination course including the Asbestos Building Inspector and Management Planner Refresher. \nPlease note that the Ohio EPA will not accept this class for reciprocity related to the Hazard Evaluation Specialist credential in Ohio; instead\, you will need to take the in-person version of this class which is acceptable. \nFor the Building Inspector\, please be accurate when registering on whether you are seeking Michigan only or Michigan/ Indiana/ EPA certification (MI/IN/EPA is required if you are seeking reciprocity for another state).  Due to State notification requirements we are unable to allow changes the day of a course. If you have questions or concerns\, please feel free to email us at training@perform-env.com or call 248.926.3800. \nThe Asbestos Building Inspector portion of this course is designed for persons who will engage in investigations related to locating asbestos-containing materials (ACMs). The course topics include background information on asbestos\, potential health effects related to asbestos exposure\, functions\, qualifications and the role of inspectors\, legal liabilities of building inspectors\, understanding building systems\, public/employee/building occupant relations\, pre-planning activities\, inspection and sampling techniques\, assessing condition and applicable asbestos regulations. This course meets the EPA AHERA and ASHARA requirements for an Asbestos Building Inspector. \nThe Asbestos Management Planner portion of this course is designed for those individuals who write management plans in schools\, as is required in the EPA AHERA regulation. The course topics include an evaluation and interpretation of asbestos survey results\, hazard assessment techniques\, legal implications\, evaluation and selection of control options\, developing an operations and maintenance plan\, regulatory review\, recordkeeping\, assembling and submitting the management plan\, and cost estimations. This course meets the EPA AHERA and ASHARA requirements for an Asbestos Management Planner. \n*Please note that the class registration site is not compatible with Microsoft Internet Explorer – you will need to use another browser (Microsoft Edge\, Google Chrome\, etc.). \n** Please Note** Online course login information will be sent to the email address provided the day before class.
